Will any Verizon Wireless apps be available on iPhone?

iPhone will have the 3G Mobile Hotspot app pre-installed, and it will also have other popular apps available in the market such as VZ Navigator, and V CAST Media Manager.

Did you think otherwise? Do you have a VZW phone? Have you ever? If you had a VZW phone or ever had one then you would know how much of a non-event this is. The crap that you speak of is very easy to remove if you so choose. Their navigator is not half bad and other apps have merit for some.

maybe it's not an app per se, but just a network setting unlocked by carrier bundles

it's not on the homescreen of the promo shots, nor in the utilities folder.

I think the Mobile Hotspot app will actually be in the settings app since the Verizon website does not show any other apps the the AT&T iPhone. The rest of the apps sound the like will be on the App Store.

Way to overreact without all the facts. As per Engadget who, unlike the OP have actually touched the phone:

There's no custom pre-loaded Verizon software (like VCAST or some such bloatware), just that mobile hotspot tweak in the settings menu. Interestingly, it's running iOS version 4.2.5, so perhaps that mobile hotspot functionality will make its way over to other iPhones when they sync up on iOS updates.

Mass hysteria over non-event over?

The mobile hotspot is probably already built into iOS it just needs a carrier update to unlock it.

Similar to tethering.

And it'll probably be in the setting menu, also just like tethering.

worse case is you can do to it with some of the Apple bloat where they throw on their phones. That is have it join the apple bloat ware folder.

indeed. Even though my carrier allows for free built-in thethering, i'd take a hotspot app over the stocks, wheather and even the compass app.

from engadget...
We just got a look at the Verizon version of the iPhone 4. Guess what? It's just like an iPhone 4! There's no custom pre-loaded Verizon software (like VCAST or some such bloatware), just that mobile hotspot tweak in the settings menu.

Ummm not they didn't. Get your facts straight. Engadget just posted that it will NOT come with bloatware. It will only come with the wifi hotspot. Not even any Verizon logos on the phone.
