Apple today announced that it is now allowing developers to submit apps for review that take advantage of the new features in iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, and watchOS 2 as the company prepares to launch iOS 9 and watchOS 2 to the general public next Wednesday.

Developers are also able to seed apps with iOS 9 and watchOS 2 features to external beta testers using TestFlight. Prior to today, only internal testing was available, giving developers little time to beta test their apps.
You can now submit your apps that take advantage of the latest features in iOS, OS X, and watchOS. Build your apps using Xcode 7 GM seed, test with the GM seeds of iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, and watchOS 2, and submit them for review.
Apple normally allows developers to begin submitting apps directly after golden master versions of new software are released, but this year, the iOS 9, watchOS 2 and OS X El Capitan GMs were released on Wednesday, but submissions were not allowed until this afternoon.

Following reviews by Apple's App Store review team, iOS 9 and watchOS 2 apps will begin appearing in the iOS App Store in time for the iOS 9 launch.

iOS 9 and watchOS 2 will be released on Wednesday, September 16. OS X El Capitan will be released two weeks later on Wednesday, September 30.

I'm hoping our Apple Watches feel like entirely new devices with native watchOS 2 apps. Right now, I don't even use any third-party apps because none of them open up before the Apple Watch screen goes off and I lose interest.
I'm really hoping to see a huge over all improvement. I get quite annoyed waiting for weather when it takes 10+ seconds and my phone can do it in under a second.

that's what you get buying a beta product :) it's the same story with every new apple device. i should know, iPad 1 felt old right after the 2 was released.

My excuse is that I had to have it for my job. :p

Tried WatchOS 2 GM candidate today and notice a huge speed improvement, app launching is fast but yes, can't wait to try 3-Rd party apps with the same speed!

Woohoo! Let's not beat around the bush here, currently watch apps are awful, slow and unless the phone is within 5cm of your watch they will take so long to load you've lost interest and already got your phone out.

Native apps are going to be great.

Wish I could say the same. Watch is about the same speed at watch OS 1.01. All the Apple native apps load pretty good, but can feel laggy. Weather app is still slow, and some times can't get the weather. Also glances are still slow to load and swipe through. Siri is pretty good, but still hangs some times. Over all watch feels slower than it should. Killing apps on my iPhone does seem to improve the experience, but really shouldn't have to think about that. Hoping 3rd party native apps load better.
I'm really not sure if this all has something to do with my watch or iPhone. Going to wait for more feed back to say the watch is fast and smooth with watch OS 2. If so I might need to unpair the watch and repair it.

Yeah this is a problem with the watch. Things take too long to load. There are only a couple apps I really want to use from my phone though but they don't seem to work at the moment. It's still worth it for the heart rate monitor and health info though.

The only thing I'm excited are the iPad apps that supports multi-tasking and PIP for Netflix, WatchESPN, NBA Gametime and SlingTV. Other than that iPhone apps has really not much, developers probably already put on hold their app to be release since some changes has to be made to support Touch3D features.

All I want is my adblocker. According to twitter Crystal has been submitted...

Oh, and I hope all the messaging apps update with Quick Reply support in a timely fashion. Knowing Skype, they will take forever...

You're in for a bit of a let down then... :)
