Can anyone recommend a better alternative to the Apple lightning cables used for charging? They feel cheap and I had to straighten them out because they were all curled up.

And my other cable has a slight tear that use on my other older iPhone and I’ve been through about 3 of them now just due to tearing.

Have to admit, but these lightning cables are crap.

Is there anything more durable than these?

What about the braided nylon ones? Are those any better?

I also read promising reviews on the Anker PowerLine charging cables. Are those good? Would it be fine to use with my iPhone 13 Mini?

I’ve never seen these cables from Anker break. They are stiffer than Apple’s so they are not quite as maneuverable. You can get them in 3 or 6 feet with a lifetime warranty. Anker has more expensive cables with greater flexibility, but I haven’t felt the need to pay more for those.

I too have never seen the Anker cables visibly damaged, but I have had a few stop working, some partially and some fully break.

This was is what annoys me with Apple no longer including the cables in some of their new devices, an argument could be made about the wall charger, but charging cables are a lot more consumable than the wall chargers.

Can I use the Anker USB C to Lightning Cable with the Apple brick charger for my iPhone 13 mini? Or, I need to also get the Anker charging brick as well?

I've had a high end Anker braided cable look visibly perfect but it broke because it wouldn't charge my phone consistently. It would disconnect even though everything was tightly connected. I tried to use my warranty but they denied me.

Never again.

I've had Apple cables that look like they should not work, by being stripped down to the bare internal wires but it still kept a charge..

I've had the same - no externally visible damage (braided cable) but it just stopped working.

Belkin braided lightning cables are durable also. I have had many Apple cables die on me and refuse to charge my phones however the 2 Belkin chargers I have, 5w and fast charge, have both lasted me around a year and have worked 100% of the time.

Yeah, after that I never bought Anker cables personally for myself anymore. I just buy Apple cables.

I kind of want to try the high-end Belkin braided cables, since Belkin tends to work close with Apple a lot. Especially with compatibility. I’ll probably get a USB-C one when iPhones go USB-C

Ive bought a number of Anker cables over the years, mostly because of the improvements made in them over time and because Ive lost them, not because Ive ever had one break or stop working. I have an Anker lightning cable that I bought 5 years ago and it still works just fine. I also have a few different Anker charging blocks and those all work fine as well, except for one I bought a couple years ago. It just stopped working one night, but that’s the only one. A friend of mine also has a couple different ones and has never had a problem.

I’m still using apple cables that came with my iPhone 6s Plus and iPad 5th gen. Both cables look brand new.

One of the cables lives 24/7 in my car for over 5 years connected to a cigarette charger and it hasn’t aged a day.
