German site finds that using the Lightning to Head Phone Jack degrades the sound quality and may fail to power headphones that needs a little more oomph

Link below, it's in German
https://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/iPh...apter-liefert-schlechteren-Sound-3325932.html

The results are clear: On iPhone 6S, the dynamics deteriorated by 4.5 dB (A) when playing off a 24-bit music file via the adapter instead of the internal socket. On iPad Air, the signal deteriorated by 3.8 dB (A). Even with 16-bit music files the losses are clearly noticeable, although not quite as drastic: Here the dynamics deteriorated by 1.8 dB (A) at the iPhone and by 3.1 dB (A) at the iPad.

To my ears, I can't tell a difference between my iPhone 7 and my iPhone 6 as far as music quality goes.

Nice try though.
