Apple has been listed as "Leader" on the TIME's newly released list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2021, continuing the Cupertino tech giant's streak of dominating lists for the most influential and admired companies in the world.

TIME says that Apple's record-breaking holiday quarter, its growing selection of products and services, and the way it handled the global health crisis earned it a spot in this year's list.
During the holiday season, Apple raked in a record-breaking $111 billion, thanks in part to the uptick in remote work and schooling boosting its Mac and iPad sales. And that's just one way the Tim Cook–led, Cupertino, Calif., company was able to defy gravity in 2020, upsetting both the competition and its apparent partners. Among other moves, it launched a new Mac lineup with a plan to phase out its use of Intel processors for its own Apple-made designs based on its mobile devices. It debuted new iPhone models that caught up to the 5G-enabled competition, and added services like Apple Fitness+ to help keep people moving when they're indoors (and to compete with fitness companies like Peloton).
In February, Apple was crowned the world's most admired company by Fortune for the 14th consecutive year. Last year, Apple ranked in fourth for the largest American company. Moving forward, Apple is expected to continue to dominate lists of these kinds thanks to its rumored entry into different markets such as automotive and augmented reality.

Interesting. Apple listed as a Leader along with the likes of the NBA, Walgreens, Pfizer, Twitter, Home Depot, Volkswagen, MasterCard, Johnson & Johnson, and English Premier League.

Innovators list includes Moderna, Nintendo, Netflix, Zoom, Spotify, Epic Games, Ikea, TikTok, and nVidia

Titans (where Apple should have been listed imo) include Alibaba, Facebook, Disney, Microsoft, Samsung, FedEx, Google, Tencent, Walmart, Amazon, AT&T, UPS, and TSMC

How are the different categories defined?

A "leader", that is "defending" its niche, rather than being a "disruptor" or even "innovator". Apple is the IBM of our time.

I don't think that is specifically a bad thing. Just like when Apple was compared to the Microsoft Balmer days, not a bad thing. If that is the opinion, it's not necessarily a bad one.

Eh? How, on this good, green Earth, can Apple not be listed as a Titan. Nor for that matter how can they not be on the Innovators list? M1 anyone? No?

Apple might be the most profitable company, but as to influence, it can never compete with Google and Microsoft. Gooigle dominates in Mobile Device, Search and Maps, Microsoft dominates in Personal Computer. Apple doesn’t have dominant position in ANY realm. When I say “dominate”, >75% of market share is a minimum requirement.

Guess AMD didn't play the paid ad placement. AMD dethroned Intel but no mention at all.

Can't say anything political here (or anything that certian people here do not like) . . . but I will say what I can't say here is why Apple is #1 on this list.
