Apple Loan

Hi all,

Looking for some advice as usual. I applied and got the apple loan about 2 weeks back. Today when I visited the apple store, they were offering 6 months same as cash offer. This wasnt there when I got the loan, so do you guys think theres anyway I could get the same?

Any advice and/or suggestions appreciated.

hmm...now that you mention it I noticed that there now too.

my opinion would be to wait until your first letter/e-mail from them, the payment offer may be there. I just got my loan about a week ago and obviously no letters yet. I like the 6-month same as cash option so if that doesn't show up as an option from them when the bill comes I'll bring it up via a telephone call.

The first letter/email from whom? I already got a welcome letter from MBNA (about 5 days after signing up) and also got the statement for last month with interest accrued, which was actually for just a few days since my statement closing date was Nov 1.

I guess the reason they did it now is to get more christmas orders.

BTW, I also hate apples store hours. Why cant they just have 24/7 customer service people?

Just thought I'd add that I called MBNA and they said that I'd have to talk to Apple regarding this. I've dropped them an email, hopefully they'll extend the offer to me as well.

Spoke to apples payments department today and they said that they cant change it.

Before I read this post, I thought that would be the case. It is very upsetting. I had been approved for an Apple Loan with the 6 months same as cash. When I called the third specialist she told me that it had expired, so I cancelled the loan. It had been more than a year and without the special of no value. When I decided to apply again they still had the program, the day that I went to the store it had been cancelled.

This to me is not good business practice on the part of Apple. Wish I who I could complain to that it would really make difference.

I guess I could return my purchase since its still within the first 30 days and get refunded, close the loan account and go through the purchase process again to get the new loan with the new terms, but its too much of a hassle, even though I havent really started using my PB yet.

Its funny though that when I called MBNA, they said I needed to talk to Apple, and when I called Apple, they said I needed to talk to MBNA. When I told them, I already talked to MBNA and they referred me to Apple, the lady said its not possible to get the 6 months SAC offered added. I'm thinking the person I talked to at Apple's payments department didnt really know much about it. Maybe I should talk to someone higher up in management?

(I'm sure a Class Action would get their attention.)

You might be better off jsut using any other credit card. I have decent credit but got a HORRIBLE interest rate. I did take it however, cause it was 6 mo. same as cash and I'll get my tax return by then and won't pay a dime in interest, so at least its good for that.

Aiight, Now heres MY question:
Does anybody know how long would Apple's SAC deal would continue from today?
The thing is, I was hoping to make my purchase not until late Dec- early Jan. Do u think it would still be around then? or do I just grab for the deal now?

You never know!

I would suggest that you apply for the loan now and buy the product(s) in Jan or whenever.
