Apple lowered the price of the refurb iPad 2 16GB wifi

It's not just the 16GB, though. I was browsing the Apple store last night and the 64GB original iPad w/wi-fi was $499 and it's $449 today. Looks like there's a stealth price drop. Probably in prep for refurb 3rd gen as Nevzorus suggested. Sneaky Apple. Feel a bit bad for a friend who used last night's prices to gauge whether a private deal with a friend yielded a good price.... I think maybe I won't tell her about the price drop and let her revel in her new gadget excitement. She's not likely to be trawling a lot of Mac forums today. ^_^

This isn't going to be for quite a while, apple gets $50+ more profit off of a new product than a refurbished one, so they aren't going to reduce their profits this early after the release, give it 4 months minimum.

Maybe they are overloaded this year with bad screens and so many returns , the refurb debut has started early :D
