Only having had a Mac for a couple of weeks after decades of windows use I’m after a proper Mac keyboard
I’ve purchased 2 off of amazon. One is a wired and the other Bluetooth

both nice little keyboards but with the odd annoyance and quirk. Most notable being the @ is on the 2 key rather than “ as per standard British layout I’m used to

i thought I’d buy the magic keyboard (full size) buy choosing the British layout on the apple site, the picture still shows it the “wrong” way with @ on 2 key

can anyone recommend a quality keyboard with all Mac commands and “ on 2 key

I've never seen a Mac UK keyboard with anything except @ above the 2 key: That is the standard UK layout for Macs.

Your other alternative would be to use a PC USB keyboard and select UK PC layout, but then you'd have a Windows key instead of a CMD key (the windows key will act as a CMD key though)

Cheers. At least I’m not going mad.
i use windows and windows keyboard at work and 2 have two competing layouts would do my head in.

I shall order some sticker for the keyboard I have and change layout.
Thanks for quick response

You're not going mad!

Mac and PC keyboards switch the @ position. Furthermore, `|~\ are also in different places. The modified cmd, ctrl, alt keys are also swapped. If you use keyboard shortcuts, especially in Creative Cloud, it will mess with your muscle memory.

Sure, you can remap keys and swap keycap positions - I tried that, and it didn't work reliably.

If it matters to you, stick to a keyboard designed specifically for the Mac, whether that's by Apple or a third party.

Thank you
I’ve gone for a fairly basic but comfy Mac keyboard and set it so the keys are mapped where I want them and then added a few stickers which match the keys

it’s not neat but it works.
i would like the magic keyboard but not paying all that for it not to be “perfect”
