I have a few questions pertaining to video cards. I see that pretty much that the best two cards that are OEM flashed and that were sold by Apple are the Quadro k5000 and the AMD 7950 Sapphire Mac edition for the 4, 8 12 core processor Mac Pros circa 2008-2011. I can't find any supporting info on new plug and play cards. Everything reviewed is pertaining to gaming or video production which is on the bottom of my list of what I want new video cards for.

I'm currently running a Sierra on Mac Pro 2.6mhz
2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Now ->12 core 3.46
16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3. Now -> 64GB
RAID Card
(2) 24" Monitors and a Cintiq that I swap out between my computers.

***I'm in the process of upgrading to (2) 38" Ultrawide WQHD displays and I'm looking for a monitor card(s) that would perform well with these monitors and still give me an auxiliary out or the ability to keep my OEM card due to the start up screen issues. Seriously, I can't find anything not pertaining to gaming or video editing. I do not game and as mentioned DV is on the bottom of my list of software that I use.

I primarily use Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, FormZ on OS X. I run a Virtual machine Windows 10 where I use Catia, Flexisign, Enroute and some CAD / CAM and Rip Software for Wide format Printing. I am seeking some for some input on which cards will help me the most and for bang for the buck without breaking the bank I have two of these machine to upgrade.

So far I have found that you can either flash and deal with the Updates on Nvidia or go the AMD route, add drivers and just lose start up screen. I would prefer a OEM card but they are so old now. Like everyone else I want speed performance, stability and reliability

So far I have been reading up on the following cards. I would like it to have Open GL4 H.264 compression and as per Adobe https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

Nvidia
(BTW Stay away from Pascal units, from what I heard ->no bueno)

TITAN X
GTX 980 Ti 6GB
GTX 960 6GB
GTX 1080 6GbB (no confirmation on Photoshop)
Quadro k5000 Mac edition (So far best solution with oldest / slowest technology)

AMD
Rx 480 4gb
R9 380x
R 290x 3or4 GB (xox, Gigabyte or EVGA)
7950 Sapphire 3Gb Mac Edition

Please feel free to suggest cards. So far the R9 Series, and GTX seem the bet options.
I would love plug and play... Then again wouldn't we all.
