Apple Macbook Trackpad Problems

okay so my 2009 unibody white macbook's trackpad isn't working right. Every time i move the curser with the trackpad it registers as a double click (i.e. if im on a web page it will highlight every word i go over) it happened ever since the last Apple trackpad update, how can i fix it?

Has there ever been liquid spilt on the trackpad? And if you create a new account (System Preferences>Accounts) does the problem persist in the new account?

I've got the silver unibody macbook from when they were first around available (got it in January 2009), and I've been having the same problems. Pretty sure it's a bug from the Trackpad software update that came out recently.

It's a software problem, one that I hope gets fixed ASAP. Having to constantly reboot to undo the problem is a PITA.
