Apple Mail 3.6 - SMTP Outgoing Server, set up, but OFFLINE

Hi everyone I am running Apple Mail 3.6, and want to set up my gmail account/Google app - my own domain name. Inbox works fine, but I cannot send outgoing mail with my domain name. I set up the address with the instructions on gmail - and everything connects fine, but my outgoing server always says "OFFLINE"...and I cant send mail out...

anyway to fix this?
