Apple Mail Application Help. Cheers

just a quick question about the mail Application on the Mac


I am currently trying to set it up with my yahoo account and every time i enter the details it comes up could not connect to POP server or something along them lines

Do you know what this is?

Mail will not work with the Free versions of Hotmail or Yahoo but will work OK with the paid versions of both.
Mail works fine with Google mail.
