apple mail bug

i"m having a small annoying bug happen in mail everytime i get a new message ... the bubble that usually has the number of new messages next to the inbox icon is really distorted ... the bubble is about 20 times bigger than it used to be and you cant even see the number. Also on the icon in the dock, the number has disappeared from the red starburst. Its not affecting too much, its just pissing me off anyone had the same problem or can help with a fix??

I have never heard of nor experienced that problem before. Can you post a screen shot?

I've just discovered that when logged in as another user on the same computer the problem does not occur. So it would seem that its something to do in my settings... but i have no idea where.

just solved the bug - turns out that there were duplicate fonts of helvetica installed in fontbook. crisis over! haha
