Hello everyone,

I am new to Mac so please bear with my incompetence.
I have managed to find the plugin HTTPMail to add to Apple Mail in enable the use of my hotmail account in this software.

Strangely, though, I cannot see any emails (i.e. it has not synchronised any of my folders/mails), I cannot receive any, BUT I have tried sending one and it actually worked.

Would there be a step that I missed???

I am on Leopard version 10.5.6., Mail version 3.5.

Many thanks for your help,

Lois

You don't need the HTTPMail plugin. Microsoft recently enabled free POP on hotmail accounts. Disable/delete the plugin. And just add a hotmail account as you normally would.

I can't exactly remember outgoing server, ingoing is pop3.live.com - you'll have to google to get the full details.

I've been using it for over a few months now.

Thank you for that. This worked!

However, it does not synchronise the different folders of Hotmail (i.e. I only get my Inbox).

How could I fix it?

I'm assuming you also have a Gmail account and you get the folders with and that's why you're asking.

Since Gmail switched to IMAP, you do have all those folders, etc, sync with Mail.app, however, POP services only sync your inbox.

At least, according to the extent of my understanding.

My question was not regarding a Gmail account but an Hotmail one.

Before, on Outlook, all the folders in Hotmail were synchronised on my computer.

From my understanding, with Apple Mail it is not possible?

Many thanks again for your help!

Lois
