Apple Mail + Delete Accounts

I've got two non-functioning accounts in Apple Mail (or rather, my client does), and I can't seem to delete them. The account icons in Apple Mail are grayed out, if that's of any use to anyone.

any ideas? I'm stumped. I've logged in as Administrator and it still won't delete them, and they're still grayed out. Maybe they were created by another admin?

Did you go to Mail->Preferences->Accounts and click on the minus sign to remove the account?

hmm, try deleting the preference file?
