Apple Mail & Gmail problem: Account exceeded bandwidth limits. (Failure)

I use Mail.app to view my Gmail e-mails, but I can't receive anything anymore.

There's an exclamation mark next to my inbox and when I click it, this errors pops up.

Account exceeded bandwidth limits. (Failure)

Does anyone know how to resolve this?
