Now this might be a bit tricky - or I just haven't got the hang of it. Let's see if somebody knows a solution:
I use a macbook in a windows server environment. Works most of the time. I wrote an automount script for mounting network ressources and Apple Mail connects well to our exchange server (apart from HTML signatures -.-), calender works fine, too.
One problem I've encountered hasn't been solved yet, though. We use a fileserver (Windows). A mapping script mounts drives in all windows clients, the fileserver being mounted as X:.
When another employee sends me file links (happens often), the link is translated by Mail.app: The link might appear to be called X:\Firma\....\...\filename.docx - a mouseover shows that it's already translated to Server/.../.../.../.../filename.docx. Clicking it still doesn't open the file, as the file protocol (file://) is added as a prefix - manually changing it to smb:// works fine (well, as fine as possible - it doesn't open the file, but at least mounts and opens the directory).
Has anybody encountered a similar problem and can offer a solution? Opening the mounted drive and clicking through the directories each time I'm mailed a file link is really cumbersome.
