Wow. Did you get any document on why in your account or with the returns?

Seems like they should be like auto repair, which at least here in California has been declare an "essential service" and are open.

I received email from each repair stating your repair has been complete and macbook is being sent back. On the repair summary it says that I cancelled repair, which I obviously did not and I was never contacted about it, usually when there are issues I get a phone call and email saying repair on hold until we get response from you.

I'm guessing that there's no reason in their system to cover the fact that the repair facility is closed (or has a skeleton crew), and so that reason best fits

Seems like a reasonable assumption

You might try giving them a call and see what is happening.

i was wondering about this too - got burned by woot on a refurb macbook pro that arrived with a completely dead battery. to their credit woot is going to pay for about 95% the cost of a new battery, but it's still a hassle.

anyway i did a telephone support call with apple and they opened a service request (which i paid for up front). they said they would send a box but so far nothing has happened - 2 days now.

seems likely that the repair centers are closed based on this thread, but why didn't they just tell me that?

oh well.

well... i received a box today without warning, so i packed the thing up and sent it (to texas, apparently.) let's see if they are able to actually repair it.

mine was received in texas a day late (was supposed to be overnight but it took fedex another day) - received early this morning and the status showed it was diagnosed a couple hours later, and the repair was completed a few hours after that. i guess since it is thursday and fedex is running a little slow we might not see it until monday, but overall this is pretty good considering the circumstances.

edit: the repair was finished by mid-afternoon and shipped back same day via 2-day UPS. i guess that means we see it monday.
