Hi all, can someone shed some light on this one for me?

I am sending emails from my mac to a PC user and for some reason the font is coming out as courier.

I have changed my font to Arial and this still does not make any difference. Have tried it on a few pc's

Thanks for any help much appreciated.

If the PC does not have the same font family installed your emails on that computer will default to the closest family that is on the other computer. This happens regardless if it is a Mac or PC.

I agree, but if I send an email using arial on a mac, I expect it to show as arial on the pc?? No?

No, not necessarily. Email is not a .doc file; it is not a PDF. Fixating on which font is used in your message is a waste of time and hair follicles. How an email message is displayed is completely at the discretion of the recipient's email program. If the sender sends HTML mail, then he will gain some control. However, the recipient's email program still maintains ultimate control.

There is a new Mac App to fix the font problems in Apple Mail.
You can get the info at messagefont(dot)com.
