I'm fairly new to Apple Mail and what not. So I'm going to refer to what I used to do on my PC to handle some important email's that I received. This was while I was using the built in Windows Mail program. What I want to do and use to do is...while in the mail program I created an "IMPORTANT" folder for the mail program and I would move important emails that I did not want lingering in my inbox and that I didn't want to delete or anything.

Is there some way to create folders in Apple Mail to save some important emails like this? I have 3 email accounts in Apple Mail [Gmail, MobileMe, & Comcast POP].

Any ideas?

Click the "+" button in the bottom left-hand corner of Mail and choose "New Mailbox" from the drop-down menu. A dialogue will pop up, letting you name the new mailbox and put it wherever you choose. Adding it to MobileMe will create a new folder in Mail and a new folder on the MobileMe server. Adding it to Gmail will add a new folder in Mail and a new label on the Gmail server.

So does this mean if I create this "new account" I can drag an email from Gmail to this folder, or even Comcast? Does it matter where or what email this email came from?

By "new account", I believe you mean a new folder. Apple Mail calls it a mailbox, but it's really just a folder.

I've been successfully able to drag messages from one Gmail account to another in Apple Mail, so I believe you will be able to as well.

Like others have said, it's not a new account but a folder. And no, it does not matter where an email came from. For instance, if you receive an email in your Comcast account and you drag it to your (newly created) IMPORTANT! folder in your Gmail account, that email will be in the Gmail > IMPORTANT! folder in both Apple Mail and online at gmail.com, with the label "IMPORTANT!" (and it will also appear in Gmail's "All Mail" area).
