Apple Mail Messages Not Loading

I’m noticing this issue happening more often on iOS 17. I’m on the latest update. Several times when I click an email the body is completely blank. I have to close out and reload the app and then the email message is displayed.
 
I've had this problem intermittently since the first version of iPhone iOS. The only solution I have found is closing out and reloading. I can't figure out how to avoid the problem.
