Apple Mail Notes ability

I used a add note to Apple mail add on/ plug in (Mail Tags). It wont work now with Sonoma (still VEntura, but will go to Sonoma).

I googled a few and none seemed serious except Mail Bulter, so I'm testing that. It works but it very .... well 98% I don't use- just add note feature..

Anyone working with Apple Mail, with a great note add on they like?

My impression is that most small developers of Mail Plugins have given up with Sonoma. A few have made the transition to MailKit. Mailbutler's blog has a good explanation of what is going on https://www.mailbutler.io/blog/email/why-apple-decided-to-stop-support-for-mail-plugins/. I suspect you won't find a simple alternative to Mail. Have you looked at MailMaven?

You won't find any. Not for Mail and not for most other existing email clients (I'll be happy to be proven wrong).

The only app with a great note functionality is Thunderbird (via the XNote++ add-on).

Frankly, it's totally puzzling to me. I believe that email notes is an essential feature that ALL email clients must have. And the note feature must include an option for a separate note column with a note preview (otherwise notes become next to useless anyway).

Thanks Zev, assuming thunderbird would have to replace mail, cannot work with mail.

Yeah, it's head spinning in 20 years. (how long has apple mail existed) still no ability to add a note. They did have a lame thing where with 10 steps your could attach something to notes totally pathetic. thanks.
