I use Apple Mail to connect to my university's IMAP server. Mail shows that there are a total of 4855 messages in my inbox, but my university's webmail interface shows 4866 messages in my inbox. Additionally, right clicking the inbox in Mail and selecting "Account Info" shows 4866 messages in my inbox. Statistics for number of messages in my sent folder are the same between Mail and the webmail interface.
Attached is a screenshot showing the discrepancy between Mail's inbox count and the "Account Info" window.
I have removed the account and added it again, and the message count is still wrong by the same margin. Any tips for resolving this discrepancy would be greatly appreciated!
