Apple Mail quesion

Hello,

I have a ibook with a smaller hard drive so i try to conserve space as much as possible. I have apple mail set up with my mac using Gmail. Are those emails actually saved to to my computer or are they still on gmail and i'm just viewing them through my mac?

your Gmail's emails actually saved to your iBook by Mac Mail.
when you use Mail to read your emails, It download them to your iBook, and you can find them here: /User/'your name'/Library/Mail
every mail saved as a 'xxxx.emlx' file
