I am using 10.6.8 with Apple Mail 4.5 with two IMAP accounts, one Gmail and one work. I have figured out how to make apple mail put the gmail sent items in the correct folder, but is there a correct to force apple mail to put work sent items (Imap acct #2) in the gmail sent items (imap acct #1)?

I setup a rule that:
If account == work and is from me@workdomain.com (sent smtp)
then move message to mailbox sent gmail.
but that didn't work.

Is there a better way?

GMAIL'S RECOMMENDED IMAP CLIENT SETTINGS

Sending:

Do NOT save sent messages on the server. If your client is sending mail through Gmail's SMTP2 server, your sent messages will be automatically copied to the [Gmail]/Sent Mail folder.

Well. Guess I had those settings wrong. Odd thing though, the recommended IMAP settings say "DO store drafts on server", but the recommended Apple Mail settings say "DO NOT store drafts on server".

The rule finally works now too. The sent mail from IMAP account 2 (using another smtp server) are being copied to Gmail's sent folder just fine.
