Apple Mail/Sequoia: New Mail Notification Delay

Hi,

I‘m using the native Apple Mail app under Sequoia using a Gmail.com address. Under previous macOS versions, new mails arrived almost instantly, thanks to IMAP IDLE. Under Sequoia, new mails arrive delayed, sometimes by minutes. Bringing Apple Mail to the foreground sometimes helps.

The mail fetch interval is at its default setting „Automatic“.

Were there any changes or bugs introduced? Can you reproduce?

The new mail delay seems to be fixed. Also on your machines?

I think it was actually a Gmail issue. I was experiencing the same thing on Windows with Thunderbird that connects through IMAP but it seems to have magically fixed itself today.
