Greetings all,

I upgraded to El Capitan a few days ago, on two different machines: a late 2008 macbook pro and a 2011 mac mini. On the whole, it seems nice (certainly looks nice). But, on the 2008 mbp, Mail has been frustratingly slow. Pretty much everything I try to do in Mail is laggy. Scrolling, typing search terms, clicking on messages, etc. We're talking about delays of several seconds and more. That machine was previously running 10.9 and Mail was lightning fast. No problems noticed with any other applications. Machine has 8GB ram and an SSD with 20% free. On the 2011 mac mini (same amount RAM and likewise SSD), Mail seems somewhat faster but still not great, definitely not as snappy as before the upgrade.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

Look in Activity Monitor and see what % CPU Mail is using and/or what else is running high. Assume your mail server connection is good??
