My Boss' trash went randomly missing yesterday. We have followed all the various threads posted here on this forum and nothing seems to work:

One said to rename the mail file and reimport the folders, but for some reason it won't let her rename; and another thread said to delete the mail plist preferences, but she can't find that file under user>library where the poster said it would be. She replaced the trash can by going to mailbox>go to>trash, but the mail doesn't go into the trash can and she has to repeat that procedure every time she opens the program just to get the trash can to show up..
I'm dealing with the Queen of Delete here, so any other suggestions anyone can give will lower my blood pressure significantly and I will be eternally grateful. She's not technical at all and I'm a Mac newbie, so speak slowly and use small words.
