Hey Everyone,

I'm more just curious, but does anyone know where the laptops are built? I'm assuming they have various manufactuing plants dotted about. The reason I ask is that I just ordered a new laptop (from here in the UK) and am wondering which country it is coming from.

Should make for some interesting comments :)

The only things that are 'dotted about' are the repair centres.

for Europe, it'll either disappear to Germany or Ireland.

if you have Netflix, search for "Objectified". Features a few minutes on how MBP's are made by Mr. Ive himself. It's available for streaming.

If you ordered a standard model with no customisations, then it'll get shipped from uk. Turn around time last week was 48 hours, although this could easily have been 24 if I had ordered in the morning.

If you customise in any way, it's coming from China and will take longer!

As stated, China. For fun, you can locate Chinese sites offering MacBook Pros for half the price that they sell for in the US. Of course, I wouldn't trust them...
