I’m trying to work out if the latest maps update is the worst ever? I think the last version was nearly perfect, but the new one seems to be made by a developers kid! Useful things that have been removed;
* current speed limit in top left
* ETA - seriously…. Why remove this? At the bottom of the page it tells you how long the trip is, even when you are 2mins from destination it still has the time from the start of the trip!
* no longer approximates your location in a tunnel. You just disappear and the map moves off in any direction.
* Add a stop removed. This was great, during a trip, pull over “add a stop”, “petrol station”, “go”.
*distance to turn update. Tells you “5.1km to left turn” even when you get to 10m away, still says “5.1km” which is useless if you have to change across multiple lanes, and would like to know when to start moving!
*zoom when turning. When you get near a turn, it used to zoom in on the map. Now you have to manually do it, which will get you a fine in Australia!
*the blue icon in the top left of the Home Screen that tells you that you are still on a route, and enables quick return to maps regardless of what page you are on!
These are the things I have found from only using it for one trip (57km), and I already want to switch to google maps!
