Quick question...

I have to run out and get an MBP today (stinks, I know ;)). I'm going to get it at BestBuy because I can get 18 months interest free financing.

So, I'm looking at BB.com and there are 3 types of 15" MBPs but they don't match up completely with the apple online store. Can someone tell me what's up?

  • MBP 15" MC026LL/A 2.7GHz 4GB RAM 320GB HD $2,499
  • MBP 15" MB470LL/A 2.4GHz 2GB RAM 250GB HD $1,999
  • MBP 15" MB471LL/A 2.53GHz 4GB RAM 320GB HD $2,499

I don't even think the processor speeds match up to the models prior to the speed bump last last month.

I was going to get the low end 15" and stick some more RAM in it since I'll be running a windows virtual machine and some CS4 apps on the mac side. But, I'm always on the look out for a deal if I can find one ;)

1. 2.7GHz should read 2.66GHz. Best Buy rounding it up is wrong and misleading.

2. 2.4GHz, that is the base model.

3. 2.53GHz was the mid ranged MacBook Pro before the slight spec bump to 2.66GHz

Well now that everything is cleared up, I went to BB and picked up a 2.53GHz model with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HD. The nice thing is that I found the same model at Frys online for $2,199. I was able to get the BB around the corner to match Frys price and got the last one they had ;)
