With upgrades, comes problems and some of those can be quite major. The iPod Touch has recently been given an iPhone upgrade for third party applications, bought or downloaded free, from Apple's App Store. With this upgrade, came many updates towards the iPod Touch itself, almost making it like an iPhone.

However, many users of the iPod Touch have had problems recently. iPod Touches have been reported to be 'bricked'. When asked by Steve Jobs as to what is going on, he said: "2.1 is around the corner for iPod Touch." and left the topic.

iPod Touch 2.1 could be a major help towards Apple customers with problems following this matter.

Sounds quite fake, tbh.

Was this really necessary? Why does it matter?

If you look at the PSP, they (used to) come out with decimal updates almost bi-weekly. It's good. Means they're thinking about what improvments could be made.

I thought 2.1 was already mentioned by Apple as they seeded the 2.1 SDK to select developers. Does that not apply to the iPod Touch?
