I just restored an iPhone 3Gs I just bought tonight to 4.1. I know for a fact that it's never been jailbroken and the blobs were not saved. It was on 4.2.1 when I got it and password locked so I put it in DFU and did a restore to a Snowbreez'd 4.1. Is Apple accidentally signing 4.1 or does Snowbreeze restore always work?

It's not signing 4.1. I tried with phones that had 4.2.1 blobs and above and Apple is not releasing 4.1 blobs for them.
And I doubt they only release it for your phone.
There's a more logical explanation like the poster above said.

Hmm, I guess it's possible that it's a refurb. But there's not even an Apple store in my province. The nearest one is in Montreal, out of state and about 12 hours away.

It's been jailbroken previously.

two things does Cydia list saved shsh blobs or Tiny Umbrella like the above posters. I bet they do. there is no logical reason Apple would be signing 4.1.

I don't think they refurbish Iphone at the store. Once it is returned, I believe it goes to Apple repair center where they probably just salvage the logic board and put it into a whole new body and it goes back to the store.

I learn from my mistake. Previously, I thought that one you restore to factory setting, it erases blobs which is wrong. Poster in the forum pointed out to me that it saves on the server. So, the blob is forever there.

For sure your is refurbished and not brand new because it has blobs saves and therefore, you can restore it to 4.1 even Apple stops signing 4.1 now.

Do developers get all blobs availible from apple? I think i read that somewhere.
