My wife has an M1 MacBook Air and an Apple Mouse. She has the weird issue that periodically the scrolling on her mouse stops working (but the mouse works otherwise). Then she has to switch it on and off to make scrolling work again.

I swapped my mouse with hers, and she still has the issue with my mouse on her computer, while hers works fine on my MacBook Pro. So, it's not the mouse.

Any ideas?

Yep, mine happens (very rarely) only noticed it with Safari. I lose my keyboard more often, but again, less than once a week. As Firefox is my default browser, I suspect if I used Safari more often I’d see both more often.

Thanks, so she's not the only one with the issue.

Interesting, my wife uses the Magic Mouse with her MBA and a couple of times this week she has mentioned the mouse stops scrolling, the same solution, turn it off and back on and it is fine.

I bought one for my new M1 and returned it for that reason. I ended up buying a keyboard mouse combo at Costco for $54. It actually worked out in my favor because it controls two computers. I plug the receiver into the work USB and it sends bluetooth to control my M1.
