Can anyone give me any idea what new mouse I can purchase, for my computer. I've had three broken ones in two years, and basically I've found the ones I've purchased for my Version 10.4.11 virtually useless.

Any USB mouse would work just fine. It really depends on what you want. I use a Mighty Mouse, and it works great, I also have a promotional mini-mouse from Toyota that I use when traveling, and it also works great. I'm running 10.4.11, and everything works fine. If you can't get a mouse to work, it is likely a permission or OS problem.

Thank you for your help I'll enquire tomorrow in the U.K. about there prices.

Mighty Mouse scrolling is known to fail over time.. basically it's a trackball, and gets too much gunk stuck in it. Take it to the Apple store with you're receipt or warranty from your Mac and they will replace it. DOn't you guys have a mandatory two year warranty on electronics in Europe?

They just will not scroll up down or 360 degree.

I have a similar problem, and simply wetting the ball or using my knife to strip off some of the dried sweat and it works again. If you don't need the 360, I would just get a standard scrolling mouse from M$ or Logitech.

I'm so tired of my Mighty Mouse "breaking" - needing to be cleaned before it will properly scroll vertically again. I'm ready to switch brands. I'd consider a simple mouse by Macally or a fancier mouse by Logitech.

I must have explained myself incorrectly the mouse I have as purchased with the computer only has the red light underneath which your unable to get at.

Any further ideas would be appreciated. ?
