Hey everyone,
After a hiatus of some years, I've returned to the Land of Mac; I recently purchased an M1 MacBook Air and an iPhone 12 Mini. As it's been some time since I last used a Mac as my daily driver, I'm really behind on the latest services and I'm seeking some advice. I have some questions about iCloud and Apple Music and I'm hoping someone can help.
I'm subscribed to OneDrive but migrating over to iCloud as I have the 2TB storage plan. On OneDrive, I have around 100GB of old ripped CDs and I wanted to get them--at the very least--into iCloud so that I have a backup before my OneDrive access expires. That process is easy enough; download from OneDrive, upload to iCloud. I purchased the M1 air with only 256GB HDD as I never need access to all my data locally so after uploading to iCloud, I've been right clicking -> Remove Download to free up local disk space. I can therefore see my files in Finder and can download them as and when required. Super simple, no drama there.
I was wondering whether I can utilise iTunes Match/iCloud in a similar 'offline' fashion to iCloud/Finder's cloud storage i.e. I can see all of my music files in Finder/Apple Music but they're not local (256GB local, remember) but stream them as and when I want. In an ideal scenario, I'd somehow be able to view all of my music in Finder but also have access to those tunes in Apple Music on my MacBook and iPhone. Is this possible?
Thanks!
