Apple Music and the iTunes Store are experiencing issues, according to Apple's System Status page. Apple Music may be slow or unavailable for some users.

As for iTunes, some users are running into problems, and Apple is investigating as of right now.

According to Apple, these issues began at 6:49 p.m. Eastern Time. There is no word yet on when service will resume functioning as normal.

Oof. Bad time to have an outage with most of the US either commuting home or about to commute home.

Oh, is that why the images for my playlists aren’t loading?

Playback is working fine even for those that aren’t stored on my device. It’s just the album/track art.

Not sure if related, but I tried to do software update on my iPad to 17.4 RC and it just says "Paused".

Maybe other systems having issue too.

It is no longer listed on the website and doesn't show any proof that there ever was an outage like it normally does for the last 1-3 days

Apples services outages are almost happening weekly now. They seriously need to get a grip and fix it! When you are worth 3 trillion dollars and charge a premium, your customer base does not expect weekly outages!

There's no such thing as "fix it" when dealing with software, particularly server-based software. They are continually updating server software, and any one of those could bring in a new bug or break. Keeping all services running perfectly is an ongoing task. Be thankful that it's as stable as it has been (over decades).

Odd that I just got a notice from Movies Anywhere to re-connect my accounts. It didn't know how to handle Apple Music + Apple TV applications on macOS or Windows 11. It worked fine on iOS, though.

While I was accessing my account through Apple TV on Windows, every movement was seemingly glacier slow.

They won't expect it but will gladly accept it.

Well I still have records, cd’s, sacd’s, and blu-rays.. if the power goes off too I have 2 pianos, 2 violins, and 2 violas that don’t need power I’m set

Ripped music synched to phones, tablets, on Macs, shared with AppleTVs, etc pretty much NEVER goes down. Possession is both 9/10ths of the law and at least 90% assurance of getting to use your media as you want to use it, whenever you want to enjoy it.

Trusting "the cloud" injects strangers and all kinds of intermediary potentials between users and their media (where often "their" means not users). It's also typically free (as owned media) instead of forever rent (and never actually owning).

(Re)learn to rip & sync and Clouds can collapse for weeks or months and you can still enjoy your own collections. AT&T cellular can go down and you can still enjoy your collections. We Floridians can suffer a major hurricane that takes down cellular, broadband, landline, etc (every kind of internet connection) and still enjoy our synched collections... while we pick up the Palm Frawns, hunt for anything not sufficiently locked down before it hit, etc.

Else, complete strangers are 100% in charge of your media and you are at the mercy of their reliability.

"Think different"
