I seriously don't understand what's going on with this app. I deleted my library and re-added all the albums I have, so it's not a corrupted library file. Album artwork sometimes load, sometimes it doesn't. I click an album, sometimes it goes to that album, sometimes it doesn't. I shut down the app, open it up again, I search for the same album and click on it, then it goes to the album. This is how buggy this thing is. And it wasn't like this in the previous Mac Os. How can they mess up an app this much in one release? As far as I know the only thing that changed is the UI.

They changed how manual playlists are managed. The result is that sometimes I can only
  • Add items to the top but not the bottom
  • Add items to the bottom but not the top
  • Not add anything at all
Frequently the item I'm trying to add to the queue is replaced by a random track rather than the I one selected.

Occasionally it even works !!!!

I've also experienced many issues with Apple Music since installing Tahoe (initially 26.0.1). I'm running 26.1 now and many of the bugs are still there, along with some new ones:

- New albums added to an existing playlist appear as individual tracks, rather than as an album, as is my preference.
- Clicking the "<" button in the upper left corner usually results in the playlist appearing blank, quitting and restarting the app usually (but not always) corrects the bug.
- Frequently, when attempting to start a playlist by clicking the "Play" button nothing happens. If I "right click" on the play button and select "Show in Apple Music," it usually works.
- Sometimes the audio defaults to my MacBook speakers, rather than the previously-selected HomePod pair. De-selecting and then re-selecting the HomePods usually corrects this.

This is not a complete list and some of the bugs seem to come and go.

I have a completely unfounded theory with the 26.2 updates fixing a lot of these problems. The only evidence I have is the updated MiniPlayer which I hope to try today. LOL. I am crossing my fingers.

Seriously though. MiniPlayer on iPad looks amazing. On windows it looks decent. On Mac it looks…forgotten.

Yep not really any better. You still have the weird history/next thing, and you still have no way to see the song title, etc., unless you are mousing over it.

Anyone have issues playing any music sorted into compilations? I have multiple albums and just picking one song in the track list will not play.

The iTunes Remote app on iPad has not worked with Music on a Mac since Tahoe. It plays one track and then stops. The only thing left that I can try is to get rid of preferences and try again.

Seems like Apple Music on macOS Tahoe is buggy. My issue: whenever I quit the app, it automatically re-opens but it's hidden. Also, when deleting a next song on "My Station" the music does not search or curate another song and it just stops playing.

To be honest, there's a lot wrong with Apple apps nowadays. Heck, even the Remote app (iOS and watchOS) does not work as it used to be - on watchOS, the app only works with AppleTV! Before, I can control media playback with my Apple Watch via that app.
