I haven’t tried Apple Music in years and wanted to give it another go. I was casually using Amazon Music at a discounted price.

So, the past few days, my battery has definitely drained faster. I’m using a 12 Pro Max on 16.1.2. I could previously make it until I go to sleep with about 30% left. Since I have added more songs and been using Apple Music a little more (but the same amount I used Amazon Music) on the way to work and back, I’ll only have about 5-10% by the time I go to sleep.

Background app refresh is OFF, I turned off active artwork or whatever it’s called. The only things that are on are the syncing libraries function and Dolby Atmos. I only have 3 playlists, totaling about 300 songs.

Should I remember to force close the app when I’m not using it? Oh, I also have an Apple TV which is now signed into the Music account.

Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Curious to hear the answer to this. Having the same issue with massive battery use. It’s not the most used app but far and away using more battery than the rest.

iOS version is current. I did have background refresh on so I just turned it off. That really shouldn’t be the issue here though. It was at 60% battery and not touched for 5 hours. When I got back to it there was 1% left. This is out of nowhere. Definitely not playing music on a speaker or anything. I’ve rebooted it and trying to do anything I can think of. Can’t go on like this.

Battery Health is 84%.
