Hello, all,
I have lots of duplicates in my Music library, on my internal desk. I used to use Song Sergeant but that is no longer working or supported. The see duplicates function with Music doesnt go deep enough to do more than just provide you with a list and mine is currently about 10,000 songs long.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for a way to do this?
Thanks

The Doug's AppleScripts site is a great resource for tools to manage your music library and I use a few of his scripts:

Looking on there, he has an app called Dupin that looks like it might do what you want:

Dupin works well. Study, understand and set the settings before you jump in.

Do you know if Dupin or Music's supposed duplicates finder can identify and then delete duplicate albums please?

Something (or some sync) over the last few months has caused much or most of my library in Music to duplicate most of the songs in my library. This isn't a mirroring issue, the songs do actually play twice!
Or what is the least dangerous way of deleting the whole library and restoring from a pre-duplicated Time Machine backup?

Can't say about Dupin but Music selects songs that it *thinks* are duplicates. Many are, but I've found that some can actually be different arrangements, or live tracks vs studio recordings. You'd have to go through the list of duplicates manually.

I don't know. I live in fear of having to do that. I made two separate backups of my iTunes library before joining Apple Music, in the hope of never needing them. I'm guessing they can be switched-in but then there's the complication of sync etc.
