Apple Music is not showing some albums in Recently Played

Had this issue for a while and I tried syncing library on different devices

I do have an older MBA '15 still running High Sierra, could this be interfering with iCloud stuff or something?

Its just some albums don't show and are blank spaces

After trying some different things, I noticed if I add the album to library after playing it, the artwork shows up

then if I remove the album from library the artwork goes away also

so basically I have to have the album in library for Recently Played to display it

What could this be?
