Apple Music creates a "Favourites" playlist for you each week on Tuesdays. If you add that playlist to your library, it will create a new playlist as normal.

When the new Favourites mix is released a week later, the playlist you added will be wiped and replaced with the new songs, and you lose the historical data. Given it's overwritten each week, there's no reason to just add the Favourites to your library as it's there anyway.

So, what I've been doing is creating a new playlist on my iPhone by going into the Favourites playlist, tapping the ellipsis (...) button, and choosing "Add to a Playlist..." I then choose "New Playlist..." and give it a name, like "Favourites 20210601" (for 1st June 2021).

This has been working without error for years, but something has happened recently in either macOS 11.4 or iOS 14.6.

When I create the new playlist on iOS, it gets created without error, but never syncs to Apple Music on my Mac. If I go into the Playlists on Apple Music on iOS, that playlist doesn't exist. It's like I created it, but it just immediately disappears.

If I name it simply, "Favourites", it sticks around, and does sync to the Mac.

If I name it "20210601", again it sticks around and syncs.

If I name it "Favourites 20210601" it just disappears.

What's going on?!
