Last month my data usage spiked, and 2GB of it was from Music. I’ve got my entire library downloaded on my phone, and almost never stream something that’s not in my library.

Since today was a new billing cycle, I decided to test: reset cellular data, and listened to music in my library while I was driving. Suddenly it had used 127MB.

I don’t want to disable cellular for Music entirely, for the odd time when I do want to stream something I haven’t downloaded. But I can’t imagine why it’s suddenly using so much data for downloaded music, which it never did before. Any ideas?

Sorry to see you didn't get a response. Have you found any solutions?

I've had a similar issue for a few months. I almost exclusively listen to downloaded music, but for some reason it seems to be streaming on cellular and using a ton of data. I even set it to High Efficiency streaming, but listening to even a 3 or 4 songs will use hundreds of MB of data.

Also have all Music downloading set to off.
