When you turn on apple products you just get a logo no sound, I think it's about time apple puts together a short but sweet little jingle that when heard instantly relates one with apple. I'm going to compose it myself and become a billionaire

Personally I think added noises that are redundant or unnecessary should not be added. I've already gone to turn on my phone, why do I need a sound feedback when I already know whats going to happen? Also sounds such as unlock noises and keyboard clicks are redundant.

Attempts a straight posting face:

You posted this in the iPhone forums. Sure iOS devices don't make the startup chime. Apple also make things other than iPhone/iPods.

End straight face.

Wow.

Download the free " mac tracker" app.

It covers all Apple products, not just computers and you can have hours of fun pressing the "Startup Chime" button on all the product profiles that don't fit under the heading "devices".

Apart from some very early macs that just beep, you'll see the mac has a very distinct and instantly recognisable start up "bong" for years.

On the rare occasion that I reboot my macbook pro, I always think to myself that I should disable that stupid startup chime. But 20 seconds later I'm at my desktop and don't care anymore.

There is an authorized repair center in my town that has a retail store, and when you walk into their front doors the startup chime sounds. I hate it.

Nope, i don't want my iPhone or iPad to sing along to me as it boots up. The silent and stealth boot is FTW.

My phone makes a small chime when its booted up. Sounds like the same as plugging in the charger.

Is there a way to put hysterical, derisive laughter into text form? I think we could all use that right about now.

I'm so happy my iPhone doesn't make any noises when it starts up.

Uh, no. I'm thankful that my iPhone is silent when it starts up and isn't playing some annoying jingle when it starts each time.

As it is, I have to remember to mute my macbook pro every time I shut it down so that the annoying chime doesn't garner attention from everyone when I start it up the next time.

They do. If you listen closely, you will hear $$$$cha-chiiing. It's the sound of making money.
