Apple News+ Family Sharing not working on Mac

I subscribed to Apple News+ and my family is able to access it on their iPhone's. However, they can't access it on their macs running 10.14.4.

It just keeps asking them to sign up and subscribe.

Has anyone gotten it to work on a mac?

The News app now crashes immediately each and every time since upgrading to 10.14.4 on both my wife and I's 2018 MPB's.....
