Apple Notebook Buying Advice

I have been interested in buying a mac for many years. The few times I have used a mac I have really enjoyed it. I am currently interested in buying a newer apple notebook but i have a budget of about $700. What is the most powerfull mac notebook I could buy in that price range?

For that price you will need to look at eBay or something similar, or at the refurbs at the Apple Store online to get a good deal

You could probably get a Core Duo Macbook Pro for that price. It's a little bit of a stretch though.
