Apple today added 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M3 Pro and/or M3 Max chips to its certified refurbished store in Canada and select European countries, such as the UK, Germany, and Italy, for the first time since the laptops debuted in October. Availability in the U.S. began earlier this month.

As usual for Apple's refurbished products, these refurbished MacBook Pro models are discounted by approximately 15% compared to the equivalent brand new models. A variety of configurations and color options are available in Canada, but inventory is currently more limited in Europe. The stock changes frequently, so check back often.

Apple says it puts refurbished Macs through "full functionality testing" and a "thorough cleaning process and inspection," and they are covered by Apple's one-year limited warranty and eligible for extended AppleCare+ coverage.

In our view, Apple's refurbished Macs are virtually indistinguishable from brand new ones, providing a good opportunity for savings directly from Apple. However, larger discounts are often available from resellers like Amazon.

In related news, Apple began selling refurbished iMac models with the M3 chip in the U.S. today.

Well I can’t / won’t use my MacBook Pro M1 anymore, 30 seconds use = severe eye strain. Given up fighting it and it’s now being sold. No more MacBooks.

I wonder seeing how fast those Macs went on sale, why they still don't have refurb M1 iPad Air (neither M2 Pro) more than 1 year after its release.

Are you talking about 14" or 13"? Hope you will find better device for your eyes.

At least in Canada, they have had the M1 iPad Air available as a refurb (iPad Air 5th generation). I almost bought one several months ago - then through someone else I know, I got an even better deal on a base model (64GB) one they decided they weren't using. It frequently sells out very quickly when they are posted. The 11" iPad Pro with M1 is frequently available, it does cost more, but usually comes with more storage as well - that was the other model I'd been considering (and may still get, because iPad OS now support Swap/Virtual Memory on M1 models with at least 128 GB of storage)

Does anyone know when we can expect higher spec'd versions? Some of you must have played the waiting game for one of these in the past. I want a fully maxed out 16 but it's taking forever to hit the store. I don't see any M3 Max 16/40s anywhere!!

They aren’t going to make one just to sell it on the refurb section. You’ll need to wait for someone to return theirs and Apple to refurbish it or when they stop making the model in a few months, which is unlikely since they don’t mass produce the higher specs. .
