From November 8 through November 14, Apple is offering customers in India up to 50% off select AirPods with the purchase of an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus in celebration of Diwali, as first reported by Appleosophy's Pururaj Dutta.

Apple is offering ₹9950 off the third-generation AirPods with a Lightning case, third-generation AirPods with a MagSafe case, or second-generation AirPods Pro with a MagSafe case when the headphones are purchased alongside an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus. The offer is available through Apple's online store and two retail stores in India.

Full terms and conditions for the offer can be found on Apple's website.

Rn a 14 Plus in India is cheaper than that in the US even without the AirPods discount in Flipkart(owned by Walmart now) which is like well trusted and the Amazon equivalent in India. 720$ here unlocked vs 890$ish incl tax in the US. An anomaly compared to how the 15 Pro is like 999$ + tax in the US and like 1600$ in India. Mostly why Apple is introducing this offer in their official store.

Apple already has upto 60% inflated prices in India for their iPhone Pro models.

Is Apple drumming up this ₹9950 on last year's outdated model as if doing us Indians a big favour?

Smart Indians import or get their iPhones at US prices from their US friends/relatives and ask them to fill a form at the US airports to claim back any taxes.

Since the U.S. is the only country in the world where all iPhone 15 models don't have a SIM card tray and instead only have eSIM, why would people in India want to buy an iPhone 15 in the U.S.?

The reason I ask is because I'm in the U.S., and I wouldn't even want to buy an iPhone 15 in the U.S. because it doesn't have a SIM card tray. I'm trying to figure out how to buy one from Canada or somewhere else with prices closer to U.S. prices.

This is like short selling Indians with old unsold iPhones from last year. May be a mask will be more helpful than those AirPods.

I guess the 15 is not assembled in India and hence more expensive. Compared to 14 which probably is.

- Apple: Guys, great news! if you buy an iPhone 14, we offer a 50% rebate on AirPods just for you :)
- India: Thanks, but for most of us these are hefty prices to begin with
- Apple: Got it! You may be short on money, but don't worry, we'll take it anyway :)
- India: Ain't these the AirPods that will be redesigned next year?
- Apple: Say again?...

The regular 15 is assembled in India just like the 14. The price difference in MSRP is barely about 100$ including taxes between the countries. It is the Pro models that are imported and have like a 600$ difference.

Well I’ve been using a 14PM US bought in India, and the eSIM version works just as fine. For people who don’t travel out of the country, switching their SIM isn’t a big deal and the 600$ price difference is worth it. As for why not Canada, it depends where your friends/relatives are settled whether US or Canada who can physically bring the phone to you while coming back to avoid shipping or customs duties. I have about 7-8 peeps in the US while I know just one in Canada.

I am not Indian, but I also would like to have that offer.
It’s ₹70k - ₹10k rebate here. Which is ₹60k and is 720$. Not to mention the extra 100$ you’ll have to put to AirPods in the first place to avail the rebate. 14 directly starts at 700$ in US anyway which is lesser and you can choose to buy the AirPods separately if you wish or prefer to have the cash if you don’t need AirPods.

E-sim is available from top 3 carriers in India. so not a big deal.
