So, for my birthday, my Mom ordered me a refurbished apple cinema display on the 23rd of December, and was going to have it shipped to my house in CA while I was on break visiting my family in MN/WI. She called and told Apple to ship it after after the 1st of January, so I would receive it on my birthday. Apple said it was fine and that they would ship it after the first.
Well, when I came home on the 1st -- I came to find out they shipped it anyway after the order was received -- and was delivered to my house on the 26th (I believe), and was brought to my house on the subsequent days until the 29th (while I was still out of town). I went to Fedex on the 2nd, only to find out that they had shipped it back already. So, I called Apple right after visiting Fedex -- and they told me they had received it back at the warehouse already. They also said they would put in a request to reship it and it would be at my house next week and watch out for emails. No big deal, right?
Fast forward to Monday or Tuesday: still having not heard anything -- I called again just to make sure things were running smoothly. "Oh yeah, it shipped already and will be at your house Tuesday or Wednesday." Okay... so we waited. Tuesday and Wednesday came -- nothing.
So, I call again on Thursday. Apparently the previous two representatives miss spoke and it just came back in to their warehouse on Thursday. Now I started to get a bit concerned/annoyed.
They said to just wait for email updates, and they're really sorry about the situation.
Fast forward to Saturday -- still haven't heard anything. So, I call them up again. They didn't have any new news, and I'm still supposed to just wait for emails with updated shipping information -- but they couldn't tell me when that will happen.
Either way, I updated the shipping information to my workplace just in case anyone wasn't going to be home.
Now it's Monday again, and I still haven't heard anything. Needless to say, they've dropped the ball on the birthday present from my parents. Any stories, or advice in dealing with the clueless representatives (it's more or less apple's ordering system that's the problem -- but some of the representatives sounded clueless, too) is appreciated.
