Got up early and ordered a MacBook Pro 16 (Max, 64 GB, 4 TB) here in Calgary and after they sent me a "order is ready for pickup" I got a call...the box is damaged and they won't sell it to me.

Happened to me with AirPods Max, went during my pickup window, they said oh it's not ready for pickup, we don't know why and asked me to go home and wait. A few hours later they called and said they accidentally damaged my box with a knife while cutting open the bigger box it was in, luckily for me they offered to let me still pick it up since they said only the box was damaged.

They didn't give me that option. Just flat out...we cancelled your order...tough luck and bye bye.

Well they must have had their reasons. If they can't guarantee that the machine hasn't been damaged then fair enough. They will probably inspect it and it will end up on the refurb store at some point.

Yep, but to not offer the next one coming in...terrible service. She just said "we're cancelling your order" and that was it. Sorry, not cool in my books.

Why do they use a knife to open those boxes? There are tools designed to cut the tape and not damage any product inside.
